The TWIG was the Transition Whatcom Initiating Group - the folks that came together and drove forward the first stage of the Transition process here in Whatcom County. They then designed their own demise - meaning they organized a process whereby the members of Transition Whatcom were able to participate in the development of an ongoing organizing structure and then selected leaders for the next phase of our work. We call these new leaders The TWOG (Transition Whatcom Operating Group).
March, April, & May 2012
There are three main events:
The Tour, on March 10th provides a directed bike/walking tour of several Bellingham grassroots resilience and community building projects. These site visits will include a 3-Minute Design process review as a way to generate ideas for grant submissions.
The Design Review Session, starting March 15th and going thru April 22nd, provides a forum for feedback and suggestions to help develop and refine grant proposals. Individuals, teams and neighborhood groups are all welcome to participate.
The Awards will be announced on April 29th and project building is targeted for the week of May 26th.
